Ternes was started by Howard A. Ternes Sr., and Howard Ternes, Jr. in 1948. The first type of Automotive product the company packaged was flat glass. Throughout the years, Ternes has handled many different automotive parts such as headliners, carburetors, trim pieces, radiators, engines, fascias, hoods, and side panels. As advances in packaging technology have surfaced, Ternes has been at the threshold eager to modernize its operations and to obtain state of the art equipment.

Ternes has enjoyed steady growth over the past five decades, from a simple beginning of a one building, one shift operation with 30 employees to a dominant player in the packaging business with roughly 1,000,000 square feet and over 550 full-time employees.

At Ternes our vision is to “Stay Ahead of the Customer.” We accomplish this by anticipating required resources, improving the efficiency of all our processes, emphasizing superior service and value, enhancing our diversity and uniqueness, staying in touch with our customers, and developing superior employees.

Through our internal value system we are continually improving our product and process, emphasizing a management style, which rewards teamwork and communication, recognizing dedicated people are the source of our strength, and achieving a safe and accident-free work environment.
