Ternes’ Environmental Policy

It is Ternes’ policy to operate in a safe, responsible manner, which respects the environment and the health of our employees, our customers and the communities where we operate. We will not compromise environmental, health or safety values for profit but rather strive to improve environmental, health and safety performance.

IEMS Principles

  • We are all accountable for conforming to the IEMS policy. It is a requirement of the workforce and especially for Line Management beginning with the President.
  • We will work diligently to prevent pollution and all safety and health incidents. Line Management is responsible for providing a workplace designed to be incident free and all employees must contribute to this goal.
  • We will practice sound environmental, health and safety management and provide training to equip employees with the necessary skills.
  • We will comply with applicable laws, regulations, permits and other requirements to which we subscribe, and will develop and employ every action required to comply with Ternes’ IEMS Policy.
  • We will audit our operations and report findings with corrective actions initiated for every unsatisfactory finding.
  • We will be receptive to environmental, health and safety research and emerging technologies to improve our ability to predict, assess, measure, reduce and manage the environmental, health and safety impacts of our operations and services.
  • We will report on our EMS activities and make it available to the community, federal and state agencies, other external stakeholders and the employees of Howard Ternes Packaging.
  • We will strive to be ever more efficient in the use of natural resources and improve energy conservation.
